Do You Unhook Your Batteries When In Storage

I just bought a new set of 12v batteries and was wondering if disconnecting the camper from the batteries would help prolong their life. We only use our camper one weekend a month and the batteries only get charged while driving or when I plug in for a day at home.
I know the right thing to do is to pull them and keep them on a trickle charger. Right now, that only happens during the winter months.
I'm too lazy to look do forgive me if this already has a thread.
Thanks.

Good luck with your decision!
I'm glad you said 'some of the best'. The best micro beers come from Ft. Collins Colorado.

RE: Might move to Wisconsin

I made a similar move last year from Colorado to Ohio. Ours was career related though. Before we left, I sold my utility trailer, thinking I wouldn't use it here. Anywhere we'd go, we expected to spend the night. Now that we are hgere, we found quite a few areas that are good day trips and now we are looking for utility trailers so we don't have to take the toy hauler.
Point being, you may not want to sell you quads just yet. You may find a great riding spots when you get there.

RE: Camping around Santa Fe, NM

Here is a hot springs resort with an attached RV park if your interested. It's about an hour North of Santa Fe and well worth the time.
Ojo Caliente Hot Springs
It would be a nice stop on your way to Colorado.

Allegheny National Forest - PA

We are looking to ride the ATV trails in ANF this summer and was wondering what the trails and the camping prospects are?
Can you camp overnight at the trailheads, or are there campgrounds close by that you can ride the quads to the trails? Are the trailheads big enough for a 25' toy hauler?
How busy do the trails get in the summer time? I think I read that 1 in 10 people in PA own a quad, so they have to go somewhere.
Thanks.

RE: Calculated MPG - Chev/Dodge 2500 towing 10-12k FW

My 8.1/A gets 11 on average unloaded with mixed driving and 7-9 towing. Can't go very far with a 26 gallon tank.

RE: Any nice dry camping spots near SW Ohio?

You can dry camp at the atv trailheads in Waynes National Forest. It gets pretty busy during the summer with riders. If you go over the weekend, bring some earplugs because the quad riders run pretty late into the evening.

RE: Santa Fe New Mexico Campgrounds

If you are willing to drive an hour north of Santa Fe, there is the Ojo Caliente Hot Springs Resort.
Ojo Caliente is a spa with an attached RV campground. They have water, electric and dump station for $30.00/Day. The RV park is nestled in the trees along the river bank; very peaceful. If your bringing the kids, there is not much for them to do. If it's just two, you can enjoy the spa, hike the back country or take the hour drive to Taos.
We went in May and the weather was very nice. Might be a little hot in August.
Here are a couple pics of our trip.

RE: KZ Sportsmen Sportster 2910

I would think the specs of the 2910 would be the same as the 29P since it is built on the same frame.
I noticed that K-Z did change the specs from 07. They made the 16" tires standard which brought the CCC up 3400lbs.

RE: KZ Sportsmen Sportster 2910

We saw the 2910 at our local RV show and really liked it as well. K-Z just changed their web site and added the 2910 to their product line. The only thing I was concerned about when look at the unit was the lack of storage space. It look like they removed the large closed that the 29P had to make the interior modifications. That is a hit to the people who would use this unit for their hunting camp (like myself).
Our local dealer has sold the 2910 that they had at the show, so I have to wait for them to get another one in to look at it again.
We've had our 25P for four years now and love it. The two reasons we would make the change would be to get the separate garage wall and the additional space in front of the stool. For some reason, the K-Z designers thought everybody had a size 6 shoe in 2003 :)

RE: Shortest TH with a separate garage

K-Z has a 29' toy hauler. Actually it is 32' long, but labled as a 29'er. This year, K-Z has modified the plan. I saw it at our local RV show and really like it. The 2910 has a roomier interior, similar to the 33P. Along with moving the bathroom to the front, the kitchen componenets are on one side and has a new wrap around style slide out couch. K-Z had to make the back garage smaller to account for the extra room in the living space.
It is so new, you won't find it on the internet yet. When our local dealer gets another one in, I'm going to take another look at it.

Nice rig. But, don't you think it's a little late in asking the question? We have a 25' Sportster and love it. Haven't had a reason to contact customer service.

RE: Best Forest Service Campgrounds in CO???

There is a small campground around 5-6 miles west of Red Feather Lakes. Don't remember the name, but it was in the bottom of the vally next to a creek. There are a couple rustic spots behind Honholtz reservior also that are nice.
Both locations are in Larimer county.

RE: Ridgway State Park, Colorado

Loop D at the Elk ridge campground is the best area. It is on top of the ridge and is mostly shaded.
Reserve your spot early because they go fast.
